Funeral Consumers Alliance of California
The Funeral Consumers Alliance of California, founded in 1962, was a nonprofit organization created to support its local member affiliates and advocate for consumer rights in death care. It represented those affiliates in public meetings and legislative hearings, served as a statewide hub for information sharing, and developed educational resources to promote informed planning and counter misleading practices in the funeral industry. Longtime director Cheryll Moore later became one of the founding members of Life’s End Options (LEO).
